Don’t matter what benefits Offer the technology for us, there has always been a major dilemma, many people say that technology affects us in many ways and others defend it.
In the video "Teens and Tech" the speaker talks about how technology is affecting children and families in general.
First, the speaker raises a personal definition of what is technology, and he says that technology is an extension of our humanity and our way of being, it's a way of putting ideas together, it's a system of thinking, Technology is not only about cellphones or media, it’s also the clothes, the pen, the money, the light, is almost everything around us, therefore cannot be separated from it, for example, the car wheels are an extension of our legs, the computer keyboard is an extension of our fingers, the internet or electricity are extensions of our nervous system, the computer is an extension our memory and the way we think, the glasses are an extension of our eyes, clothes are extensions of our skin also.
When we identify a problem with the technology the answer is not to throw it away, we have to do a reflection of what we do with that technology, and identify where the problem may have started.
Many psychologists and researchers say that technologies including our computers, cell phones, devices of the internet are destructing our development, disintegrating our relationships, distracting our mental skills and abilities, and they are depriving us of feelings. For example, many children do many things at the same time as listening to music, do homework, chat with friends and answer phone calls at the same time, this doesn’t allow them to concentrate or develop a high level of critical thinking,

Regarding to the video I want to tell some things that are really happening in my home, I used to chat almost all the time with my friends since I was a child and play videogames, and I spent too many hours involved into video games and virtual worlds that nowadays I don't know how to have a conversation with my parents nor my brothers, it's even harder with my brothers because they do the same, my sisters spend her free time in front of the pc and my brother doesn't separate from his laptop neither for having lunch, it's not necessary for none of us to eat in the dinner room and have a normal conversation.
